breathe love in

I have long noticed in my personal life, and my clinical practice, that we are best at what we practice most often.

Today I practice breathing love in.

I use my imagination and my breath to invite love in.

As love is unlimited, breathing love in is always an option.

I can breathe love into my body, into anywhere I feel tension. I can breathe love into my mind, matters of the heart, and even into concepts I might feel uncertain about, like finances, a big decision, or perhaps a relationship that feels imbalanced.

I can breathe love in anytime, anywhere, and for any reason.

The more I practice breathing love in, the more empowered, confident, and connected I feel.

I know I deserve to feel good, and I also know that feeling good is no one’s job but mine, so today, I help myself feel more awesome by breathing love in, often, throughout the day.

Please read on, if you are finding that even during and after you practice breathing, slowly and deeply, and affirming that your future is bright, safe, and secure, you do not feel that it is true.

What if your future doesn’t feel bright, safe and secure?

There is a high probability that if your future doesn’t feel safe and secure, that the actions you are taking right now are not giving you confidence that your future is going to be any more comfortable or secure than it is now. If you are not taking excellent care of your Self, then it is likely your body is not feeling loved, safe or secure now, why would it foresee a safe and bright future?

Your future is malleable, and responds to your beliefs, thoughts and actions. Your future is a direct result of what you are doing, thinking and feeling right now. You have the power to give yourself permission to help your now feel more bright, safe and secure. If you do at least one thing every day that helps you feel bright, safe and secure, you will be on a path to a future that is brighter, safer and more secure.

You have the power to be kind to the one person that can change everything in the world around you. You.

Even a little self-care goes a long way; self-care is gift to the world, it helps everything feel slightly more awesome, and that is quite a blessing.

Pain: Management & Messages

Enduring pain burns a lot of energy; energy that the body can’t then use for healing the underlying imbalance. Managing symptoms can be an important part of holistic health care, though the purpose of the symptom management must remain clear.

Relieving pain with medication can free up some energy to engage in the integral inquiry into the underlying imbalance that is causing the pain.

There are risks with only masking pain and ignoring, or failing to value, the underlying causal imbalance, strictly numbing pain is rarely curative.

One danger of ‘missing the message’ is the body may send a stronger pain message or a new symptom. If we ignore the body’s whispers they may become shouts. If the underlying imbalance causing pain is not addressed, the pain is likely to not disappear completely, and to return as soon as the medication wears off.

Another risk of medication, as the only approach for pain management, is that if our pain does not heal its underlying imbalance quickly, our body adapts to the new medication stimulus, and we often end up needing progressively more medication to manage our pain. Progressively more medication can tax our body’s ability to safely detoxify and may strain the organs, such as the liver and kidneys.

While there are surely merits to managing symptoms and pain hhc encourages you to consider also what your body may be trying to tell you with its ‘pain message’.

Sometimes making an opportunity to get quiet with yourself, focusing on slow, deep, mindful-breaths, may be enough to get in touch with what is going on in your body. Your body’s message may come to you, loud and clear; you may require more rest, more movement, or perhaps more opportunity for creative expression.

If slowing down and checking in with yourself is something you have practiced and you are still having symptoms, or if you feel no closer to understanding them, or if you have had a long history of symptoms and/or chronic pain, you may be interested in booking a session with one of hhc’s Holistic Health Consultants, who may assist you with interpreting your body’s messages.
